Description

Miss Sallie’s Small History of these Biscuit.

I am not european and dont have any roots to europe other than ireland and the UK. As a child my parents didn’t like the almond flavour in anything so we never really cooked with almonds and/or almond paste etc. I went to Lubeck in the north of Germany where mazipan is said to orginat from, and was amazed at the difference in the flavour when compared to other marzipans. During the pandemic i did a group challenge with a work place i teach at and my challenge was to make a different biscuit each day for 30 days. While i discovered Amaretti Biscuits during the 30 day workplace challenge they have become a favourite!
